I'm about ten days late and a zillion dollars short on this, but we premiered our latest session with Fort Lean last week over at Big Ugly Yellow Couch. The boys were precious — i mean, look at them — and I almost find it funny to see them in this setting, because these songs could so easily be chart-topping hits from 1953 with a darker overtone. Which, I think, might be the reason why I adore them so much.
"Beach Holiday" is their veritable single, but I keep finding myself humming the one below while waiting for the train, which mean's it's a keeper. The actual recording is here, but I much prefer the stripped-down, scratchy version we recorded ourselves. Unsurprisingly.
